The No Barriers Mission

Many communities count on volunteer search & rescue, firefighters and other responders to save lives and get injured people within reach of emergency help.

Yet these teams get almost no public funding.

So on top of responding rescue and emergency calls...

...on top of their day jobs and family commitments...

They have to raise money themselves to pay for supplies, equipment, and training.

We can't make elected officials fund these essential lifesaving teams —although we think they should.

What we can do is use our online platform to remove barriers to crucial resources.

SAR Medical Director Support

Many SAR teams say better access to physician expertise in backcountry & wilderness medicine is a priority need.

To help close this gap, the No Barriers program includes a no-cost analysis of your team's rescue call history by a member of our medical faculty who then tailors medical preparedness recommendations to your team based on the 2024 Wilderness Medical Society Clinical Practice Guidelines.

This process usually begins with a call with your medical director, if you have one - if not, with a senior team member.
