If you have any concerns questions before or after your in-person class, contact us via the Help bubble, and let your instructor know if you have concerns or questions during class.
IMPORTANT! You must finish both online modules before Saturday’s in-person session in order to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Bring the email you received which states that you’ve completed all online modules and are cleared for the in-person session.
Need a CPR/AED certificate?
No extra coursework needed!

Checking In
- We’ll start at 9 AM PT sharp and wrap up around 6 PM
- Bring the email you received which states that you’ve completed all online modules and are cleared for the in-person session.
- Enter through front entrance.
- Take stairs, escalator or elevator to the second-floor Conservation Room where the class is held.
- It’s near the bridge and next to the gun range.
Beverages, Snacks & Lunch
- Bring your own beverages, snacks and lunch.
- All liquids in a container with a secure lid – no fast-food or Starbucks cups that can spill.
- Restaurants are nearby but traffic may be significant.
- You’ll have a 45-minute midday lunch and phone break.
Supplies & First Aid Equipment
- No need to buy anything you don’t already have.
- Bring your preferred notetaking supplies
- Bring the gear you’d normally take on outdoor trips – items like packs, tent stakes, trekking poles, jackets, sleeping pads, etc. – for use in improvising splints and other techniques.
- We’ll also provide some additional items for use in skills practice
- If you normally take a first aid kit on your trips, bring it for discussion purposes.
Personal Items
- For some parts of the course, you’ll sit at tables with standard chairs.
- For the hands-on activities, you’ll sit, kneel or lie on the floor.
- Feel free to bring a yoga mat, sleeping pad or thick towel or blanket for your knees.
- If sitting on the floor isn’t workable for you, feel free to bring a camp chair if you prefer that to a standard chair.
During Class
- Absolutely no tobacco products of any kind, no smoking, and no vaping
- Keep phones on “do not disturb” during class
- No photos, video or audio recording without prior approval
Leave No Trace
- When you head home, take your trash, empty water bottles, snack wrappers, etc. with you.
