The ACA's "Scan If Found" program not only helps you recover lost gear and equipment, but it also prevents agencies from launching a search and rescue operation for an owner who just lost their kayak.
Every week, the Coast Guard and other agencies launch air and sea resources to search for potentially missing people. Very often, those people are fine and just separated from their gear.
